My Story Before Life Liberation
Hi, I’m Maverick Wil and I’ve always had it in my mind that everyone should be able to seek out their passions and live life on their own terms.
However, I grew up in an environment that advocated otherwise. I was taught that the successful people went to university and end up as a professional in some J-O-B, preferably one that made you a doctor, lawyer or accountant.
Study hard, get a higher education, enter the workforce for some 40 odd years, and reap the rewards of our hard labor as a graying old retiree. That’s the ultimate blueprint for life right? Hell no!
By the time I turned 14, I was dead set on starting my own business when I was done with high school and out of my parent’s grasp. This was during the first ‘dot-com’ era and also around the time I got my first computer. Did it happen? Well…not quite. After high school, I was asked to study some more. I became entangled in the ‘blueprint’.
Eventually I made my way into the working arena as an employee which was actually pretty interesting; for the first 6 months. Working under a set of someone else’s rules and having to champion their vision at a 10 to 10 (that’s right, not even a 9 to 5) was hardly inspiring. I went from retailing to business development and even had a brief stint as an IT engineer cum market researcher in Shanghai. Nothing but the type of job changed.
The thought of starting my own business beckoned and I finally got the taste of being my own boss running a corporate merchandising service. It was fun but things turned ugly when I realized that I was now working non-stop for the boss from hell, ME.
I sat down to re-evaluate my goals, proceeded to close shop early 2008 and went back to school to get a degree. It wasn’t so much for the qualification than it was to fill the void of not knowing my next step.
A few months into university, I discovered 2 things that set the wheels in motion for the direction I am pursuing today. ‘Internet Marketing’ and ‘Lifestyle Design’. You can find out more about the what, why and the how in the individual blog posts that I have written on these 2 subjects:-

Liberating My Life & Where I Am Now?
The year is 2010 and I am super pumped to fully incorporate the lifestyle design principles in my life.
I am still pursuing my university degree of which I’ll be done with in April. I am also building up an Internet marketing business with a focus on digital information products that will be able to fully support the location independent lifestyle that I aspire to.
In fact, I’ve already made plans for a 1 month experimental Bali trip in July. Surf and sea here I come!
